"Fun Uncle Pat" is the first segment of the twenty-ninth episode of the first season of Kiff. It is the fifty-seventh segment overall.
Synopsis
Plot
Martin's brother Pat visits the Chatterley residence for dinner. While Martin is annoyed that his brother is coming over, Kiff and Barry are excited to see "Fun Uncle Pat". After dinner, Pat confides that his landlady, whom he had also been dating, recently dumped him and evicted him from his apartment, leaving him homeless. Though Martin says that there is no more room for Pat at the house, Kiff offers to sleep on the couch and let Pat sleep in her room.
The next morning, Kiff goes upstairs to wake Pat up for breakfast and finds him sadly reflecting on his current circumstances. While trying to cheer him up, Kiff compliments the Table Town sticker on his suitcase, which prompts Pat to mention that though he once dreamed of traveling the world and collecting stickers from different places, he has never even left Table Town. He eventually perks up when Kiff mentions that breakfast is ready. At the breakfast table, Pat tries to be helpful, but is left feeling hurt when Martin snaps at him for refilling Martin's coffee mug.
Kiff decides to help Pat find a job and get his life back on track. At Barry's suggestion, Kiff lends Pat her laptop so that he can prepare a résumé, but when Pat struggles to do so, Kiff takes over and spends the day in her room completing the résumé herself. After finishing, Kiff finds Pat downstairs watching TV and is annoyed to discover that he has deleted her Chubbles Wubbington downloads to make room for his preferred TV shows, as well as eaten all her snacks. She goes back to her room to lie down but ends up falling back first on the floor, as Pat has moved her bed from its usual spot.
While griping to Martin about Pat's laziness, Kiff realizes that she might be able to make Pat leave by reuniting him with his ex-girlfriend. Outside Pat's former apartment building, Kiff, joined by Barry and Pat, serenades Pat's ex-girlfriend with a song, which convinces her to unevict him. Beryl and Martin then arrive to bring Pat his suitcase. Upon moving back in, Pat is shocked to find that all his belongings are gone, as his ex-girlfriend threw them into the nearby ocean after his eviction.
Pat is forced to fish out his belongings from the ocean. Kiff and Barry encourage Pat to move back into the Chatterleys' house, but Martin objects and finally explains that while he loves Pat, he finds Pat's chattiness and constant eagerness to help annoying. Simultaneously, Kiff overhears the cruise director of a ship docked nearby being fired for lacking these exact qualities. Kiff hands Pat his résumé and takes him to the cruise ship.
Kiff, Barry, Beryl, and Martin later enjoy a free cruise courtesy of Pat, who has been hired as the ship's new cruise director. On the ship, Martin raises his coconut drink to lead a toast to "Fun Uncle Pat". A child walks up to Pat and gives him a sticker from Cocina Island, which he proudly places on his suitcase.
