Notes

• "If foe initiates combat" means if a foe triggers combat during the enemy phase. The unit being initiated upon does not need to deal damage, nor be able to counterattack.
  • However, if the effect is applied after combat, the unit being initiated upon must also survive it to fulfill this condition.
• The stat decrease that can be applied by Edged Scales is considered a temporary debuff.

• The damage boosting effect of Edged Scales is not affected by the weapon-triangle, and includes the increased Atk from skills like  Blárblade+ in its calculations.
• The damage boosting effect of Edged Scales ignores the foe's Def or Res when calculating the damage boost, and can be reduced by damage-reduction effects such as  Gust,  Atk/Spd Excel, and  Dodge.
  • A foe equipped with  Embla's Ward,  Múspellflame,  Niðavellir Axiom,  Gold Perfection, or  Nine-Realm Pact will neutralize all sources of damage except from Røkkr area-of-effect Specials and the minimum 1 damage from Umbra Burst weapons.

• The damage-reduction effect is a flat -10 damage that is calculated after offensive Specials, damage boosting effects such as  Arcane Lúin and  Dominance, and "reduces damage by X%" effects such as  Gust and  Dodge.
  • If a skill such as  Miracle or  Everliving Domain can trigger, the damage-reduction effect will not trigger and the user will still survive with only 1 HP.
  • Flat damage-reduction effects stack additively, similar to interactions related to the weapon-triangle, such as  Triangle Adept and the weapon-triangle advantage boost.
  • Flat damage-reduction effects cannot be neutralized or reduced by effects such as  Share Spoils or  Halves non-Special damage reduction.

• Edged Scales increases the Spd difference necessary to perform a follow-up attack.
  • 【Phantom】 effects such as  Spurn 4 or  Phantom Spd 3 will not affect the Spd difference increasing effect of Edged Scales.
  • All Spd difference increases and/or decreases will stack with each other.
    • For example, if a unit has  Laguz Loyalty and the foe has  Foe Spd Difference Increase, the effects will stack and the the Spd difference necessary for the unit to make a follow-up attack remains the same.

• Edged Scales will not neutralize the additional follow-up of Potent Follow effects.
• Effects that are neutralized by Edged Scales:
  • Effects that grant the foe a guaranteed follow-up such as  Quick Riposte 4,  Guaranteed Follow-Ups, or the Grand Conquests  Cavalry area effect.
  • Effects active on the unit that prevent their follow-up attacks, such as  Windsweep 3,  Watersweep 3, or  Weaving Fighter.
  • Effects active on the foe that prevent the unit's follow-up attacks such as  Steady Impact,  Vengeful Fighter 4, or  Foe Cannot Follow-Up.
