Chapter 112

When You Live Life on a Ship (船で生きる者 Fune de Ikiru Mono) is the 112th chapter of Hiro Mashima's Edens Zero.

The Edens Zero Crew follows the Mother Ether to the next Relic. Meanwhile, Jesse is exposed as a spy to the rest of Elsie's crew and is sent to Justice's ship.

Summary

In the Briefing Room, Shiki group explains about the Relics and how if they gather enough Mother Ether then they will eventually reach Mother. Weisz X442 then asks if they could stop letting Drakken's goons in their crew. Jinn states that they will leave as soon as Kleene is cured, while Laguna is here because he made a pact with Witch and that he will leave when he has found what he is looking for. Shiki reaches his hand out to be friends with them, but the three leave. Witch asks to continue addressing Shiki as Demon King, but he points out that that is what they called his grandfather. The Four Shining Stars counter that Ziggy is not the Demon King anymore and that he is their enemy now. Shiki allows them, but realizes that "Demon King" sounds like a bad guy, which Witch corrects him that it is a title for the King of Magimech, who rules and shares his Ether with the Machines. Hearing this, Shiki uses his powers to make the others float, liking the sound of Magimech King.

Meanwhile, Elsie's Skull Fairy is in the Coral Sector, where the space pirate hopes that Ziggy did not go to see Nero. Suddenly, they get an alert signal that the Interstellar Union Army approaches. Elsie asks Jesse to drop the act and asks if he called them here, much to the surprise of the rest of the crew. She reveals that he is a government spy to the others, saying this is his last chance and asks him to get rid of Justice's fleet. Jesse remains silent, making Elsie order the others to send him to Justice's ship. However, the crew disagrees, wanting to kill him for for his treachery. Behrman points out about all the information he sent to the government. However, Gowen and Hyoga appear, announcing to everyone that nothing was leaked since they made sure it was untransmittable, suspecting it is just a coincidence that Justice found them. The two argue over who Elsie to came to help first. Elsie tells Jesse that the two used to be a firefighter and a doctor but are pirates now, and that she did not out him sooner since she thought even a government agent could become family. Jesse adamantly says that she will never beat the Union Army, where he is then ejected from the ship and sent Justice. After this the Princess Guard wants to do better background checks on new crew from now on, but Elsie wishes to welcome all, just like the Edens Zero and believes a family can be built when living life on a ship. They then set course for Foresta.

Back in the Edens Zero, Jinn, Laguna, and Kleene converse with each other while they eat in the kitchen. Laguna admits that while they were working for Drakken, he did not think he was doing anything wrong since their ex-boss did not kill people without reason. Though it creeped him out when he learned what he really was. Hearing that Weisz's mother was one of the victims, he promises that he will not cause trouble and wishes to get off on the next planet if he likes it. Mosco arrives, hoping that the planet has good food, confusing Laguna while Kleene calls him Jinn's best buddy. The Mother Ether leads them to the Verdant Planet, Foresta, notable for being the home of the best cuisine in the Aoi Cosmos. Hermit analyzes the ship's log, which shows that they did visit this planet on their journey 15 years ago. She also found another curious term, Master Xenolith, the instructor in the Magimech Arts, known as the founder of gravity Ether Gear tactics and that this was his home planet. Meanwhile on the Verdant Planet, Poseidon Nero's command, team Beast prepare to kill all the bots because of Ziggy.
