Chapter 102

Time to Say Goodbye (別れの時 Wakare no Toki) is the 102nd chapter of Hiro Mashima's Edens Zero.

Ziggy beckons Pino to join him in his conquest of humans, forcing her to follow her original programming. She begins to delete her old memories, but Shiki manages to get through to her, causing her to reassert her dream of becoming human. Ziggy decides to abandon Pino as he retreats to the Edens One, declaring war on the Edens Zero with the Four Dark Stars, his replacements for the Four Shining Stars.

Summary

Ziggy beckons Pino to come with him, while the others are confused by his change in personality. Ziggy states that Pino was created to follow his orders, he then demands that she over her program and that she has no will of her own. Pino follows his command and begins transferring her command rights to Ziggy, the others try to snap her out of it. Shiki wonders if this is all act, but Ziggy distorts the land and crushes the buildings. The crew manages to avoid falling into the debris, where Shiki calls out to Pino, asking her who she wants to go with and make up her own mind to decide for herself. Touched by this, Pino cries and declares that she wants to go with Shiki and wishes to be human.

Because of this, Ziggy leaves her, declaring that he does not need the Four Shining Stars and climbs aboard the Edens One. Suddenly, the Edens Zero swoops in and rescues the crew. Now out in space, the Shining Stars are confused as to what happened to Ziggy, his sudden change of personality of wanting to destroy humanity, and how is he alive. They get a transmission from the Edens One's captain, Connor. Ziggy announces that the Zero was merely a prototype to the One and introduces the Four Dark Stars, the next generation of the Shining Stars. With this, Ziggy declares that he is leaving Shiki the blessing of dying with his friends.
