Suzu

Suzu (すず, Suzu) is one of the villagers of Ishigami Village.

Appearance

Suzu is a young girl with short bobbed hair, with blunt curved bangs framing her face. The ends of her hair stick out slightly. She has round, innocent eyes and small thin arched eyebrows. Her nose is extremely tiny and her lips are small.^[2]

She wears a short green dress, and has the village rope tied around her neck. It is notable because the rope is too thick for her and covers the lower half of her face, and the knot is very messy.

Personality

Suzu is never shown speaking in the manga, and rarely in the anime, and thus acts like the generic background character; reacting in the same way as the rest of the group. Since she is a child, she tends to react in such a manner.

She appears to be good friends with Shovel, as in the anime they can be seen hanging together in multiple occasions. Right at the intruduction of Ishigami village in Episode 7 they can be seen running together to meet Sho. Suzu can also be seen cheerfully hanging with her and chatting near the bonfire during the celebrations after Senku became the village chief. Later on, when the village is set ablaze by Homura, Suzu can be seen running and hugging her.

Shortly after the incendiary attack, she is shown being comforted by Alumi.^[3]

Abilities and Skills

In the anime, Suzu is shown helping make the gold wire for the cell phone, and later polishing a gear with Suika and Namari.

Synopsis

Kingdom of Science Arc

Suzu does not appear in the manga at all apart from her character introduction.^[4]

In the anime, she appears at various moments to help with simple tasks such as twisting the gold wire.^[5]

• Suzu's name is a homophone to 錫 (すず) which means tin. Tin has the symbol Sn (from Latin Stannum) and has the atomic number 50.
