M48A3 Jihwi-Cha

M48A3 Juhwi-Cha (Korean: 지휘차/指揮車, meaning "Command Vehicle") is the South Korean Command Tank that appears in Wargame: Red Dragon.

History

The M48 served as the backbone of South Korean Armor.  381 vehicles were converted from M48A1 to M48A3K with M48A5 standard FCS. This variant uses a diesel engine instead of the original gasoline type. Other changes include installation of a T-shaped muzzle brake on the gun, three additional support wheels on the tracks, commander's periscope on the turret and smoke grenade dischargers. The fire control system has also been replaced with a native South Korean version.

The M48A3K replaced earlier M48A1, M48A2 and M47 in the Armored Brigades. M48A3K were sent to the Infantry Division after being replaced by K1 and M48A5.
