Shalah, also stylized as shålåh, is one of the characters from pop'n music 7.

Character Information^[2]

I imagine, something mysterious in East-Asian style. Shalah is the name that everyone from the team thought up. I borrowed some sounds from a shala tree around here. But from religion, there's a feeling that is from an indigenous folk religion like there are countless of things being buried in Japanese folklore. There are spirits and demons(?) for instance.

Even if there was a way to favor this character, I'm certain that you should try to go and watch some things in either a huge art museum that is at the corner of Indian arts or a general museum. The deity statue from Hinduism is beautiful for the gestures of the fingertips and the way the lines of the body flow. I mean it is goddess-like. It's full of elegance.

Appearance

Shalah takes the form of a Balinese belly dancer, having a gold headdress adorned with white flowers. Her outfit consists of a violet top and fuchsia skirt. Shalah is know for her red eyeshadow, bindi, and lipstick. She is accessorized by golden neck coils and bracelets. She has long black side bangs that runs down her front. Her original appearance does make other appearances: 一触即発☆禅ガール from pop'n music peace and Gabbalungang from pop'n music UniLab.

Shalah's 2P palette has her complexion slightly lighter and her eyes deep indigo blue. Her overall dress consists of an indigo blue top and a cerulean skirt, while her bindi shares the same color as either her top or her eye color. The rest, including her hair remain the same colors, but the flowers from her headdress are colored fuchsia.

Shalah's 3P palette carries a crimson red outfit. Her skin is pure white, and her eyes are now light blue. The bindi and the flowers from her headdress is also red. This alternate color palette carries onto the URA version of Denpasar from pop'n music 11 and Gamelan de Couple from pop'n music 15 ADVENTURE.

• Shalah shares her birthday with N. Naga and Taro.
• Shalah does not appear at all in the Waku Waku! Pop'n Manga series, making her one of the few characters to not appear in this piece of media.

Etymology

• Shalah's name derived from the type of tree that originated from South Asia, called the Shorea robusta, also known as either the sal tree or the shala. The shala tree in Japanese is "shara souju" (沙羅双樹, "shara souju"^?), hence the creation of this character's name.

• The "spirit dancing" in her description refers to sacred Balinese dances involving possessive hyang spirits that put the dancer in a trance.
