Zizz is a mysterious masked phantom. He is seemingly polite, charming, and refined, but he hides a much darker side beneath his gentlemanly nature.
Zizz's passion is collecting dolls. He is the creator and puppeteer of Mebae many other puppets as well, including four small dolls which resemble himself (which can be seen in his Pop'n 9 FEVER! animation). He can also create illusions and false puppets of himself, as seen in his Lose animation from the same game. Zizz seems particularly fond of transforming living things into dolls using magic. It is implied he steals away the singing voices of those who he turns into dolls. Aside from dolls, it appears he collects various masks as well.
In Pop'n Music 20 fantasia, Zizz takes control of ALT by way of computer virus. It is possible he took interest in her because he saw her as a living doll or puppet, or because of her voice.
In Pop'n Music Lapistoria, Zizz has his own story called Doll Collector Zizz.

It was quite difficult for me to grasp this character's image.
But once I received the keywords "Venetian masquerade", the music and feeling of the lyrics helped me to energetically complete it.
As always, I'm grateful to the team members who helped me come up with material.
The mask is a creepy, cool motif, isn't it?
Behind an inhuman mask, there is a vivid human ego.
You should be careful not to hide your face too often, or it'll overtake your true heart.

Pop'n Music 9 [2]
The offer for a sequel to Darkness was unexpected, but despite my surprise I came up with a design. I had quite a bit of trouble again. This time the tune is more gorgeous and flamboyant, so I think the design somehow reflects that a bit.
The mini Zizzes that appear in the Dance and Ojama are my favorite. At first Zizz himself was also dressed like that Trumpman, but now I think maybe it was a good idea that I stopped where I did.
Anyway, lately, I wonder if he's his own favorite motif rather than Mebae? I feel as if the self is the ultimate theme, both the most familiar and the most incomprehensible.

Pop'n Music 15 ADVENTURE[3]
With a chandelier, pipe organ, and extravagant decorations!
Because that's what was requested of me, I tried to create the image of a gentleman living in a Rococo-style mansion with a little gold, a cane, and a "tuft".
Surely the reason that a doll character appears in every Pop'n game is because of Zizz's hobby of untiringly making dolls...
Because of that, I've also included a "happiness scene" where Zizz is surrounded by his favorite dolls.
There are some that might make you think "This character was a doll!?", but I think if he takes a liking to someone he might make a doll that looks exactly like them.
And then he'll replace it with the real thing without anyone noticing...

Appearance
Darkness
Zizz is a man with pale green skin who wears a white half-mask. His eyes and mouth are an empty black and form an eerie smile. He wears almost all black, though his jacket is accented with a yellow bow and buttons on the sleeves. A white shirt can be partially seen underneath. A dark red plume comes from his beret, and his cape fades from the same red into black. His shoes are pointed.
Zizz's 2P color palette changes his jacket and beret to white, while his pants and shoes remain black. The eye on his mask is now red. His bow and beret plume are bright blue. His cape now fades from blue to white.
Darkness 2
Zizz's physical appearance is unchanged, but he now wears a longer, more angular coat. The coat has shoulder pads and is accented by a white jabot at the neck. The ends of its sleeves are gold, as are the four buttons on its front. Zizz's hat is now more square, but has the same red plume. He wears the same pants and shoes as before, but no cape.
His 2P color palette changes his coat and hat to white, and once again leaves his pants and shoes black. His mask is now black with a red eye, and his mouth is outlined in the same red. The plume on his hat and his sleeves are bright blue, while his jabot and buttons are yellow.
Darkness 3
Zizz now wears a black tunic over a white shirt with puffy sleeves. A gold belt is tied around his waist, and he wears the same pants and shoes as always. He wears a black bicorn hat with three gold stripes and the usual red plume. He has a floor-length cape that is black on the outside and red on the inside. It has a high white collar and is secured by a light blue brooch with a gold ribbon. Zizz carries a black scepter with a gold top.
The usual 2P color scheme is reused. Zizz's tunic, hat, and outside of his cape are white. His shirt, pants, and shoes remain black. His mask is once again black with a red eye. The inside and collar of his cape and his hat plume are blue. The bow on his cape is a darker blue. The scepter is now white, but its gold top is unchanged, along with his gold belt and stripes on his hat.
This appearance is reused for 終末の序曲 ～オワリノハジマリ～ in Pop'n Music Lapistoria.
Cameos
In Pop'n Music 20 fantasia, Zizz appears in ALT 2.0's FEVER! Win, Miss, and lose animations. He is the "masked gentleman" described in DOES NOT COMPUTE.

- Zizz shares his birthdate with Moi Moi.
- In Pop'n Music Lapistoria, despite gaining a new song, Zizz is one of the few characters to not receive a portrait in the new anime style. However, he did receive a new portrait, but in the original Pop'n Music art style.
- This is also the case for Goku-Sotsu-Kun, Sora Hoshino, and Kagome.
- One of the floating masks in Zizz's portrait in Pop'n Music 7 looks like Otoko-Man's mask.
- Bamboo's glasses appear in Zizz's Great animation in Pop'n Music 15 ADVENTURE.
- Telly66, Charlotte, and P-14 have cameos in his Win animation.
- Hoshi no Hito's eye makes an appearance in his FEVER! Win animation.
- Zizz may take some inspiration from The Phantom of the Opera.
