This is an enemy family that consists of seven members, the Puffstool, Puffstalk, Toxstool, Moldy Dwarf Bulborb, Moldy Slooch and the Mushroom Pikmin. This enemy family only appears in Pikmin , Hey! Pikmin and Pikmin 4.
Puffstool
The Puffstool appears in Pikmin 1 and Pikmin 4. When attacked, the Puffstool would run instead of walk and if enough damage was done, it would flip over and Pikmin can attack it from there, it would then flip back up and spray any Pikmin near it with spores turning them to Mushroom Pikmin in Pikmin and hypnotised Pikmin in Pikmin 4. It is a mushroom with a yellow body and an orange-brown cap.
Puffstalk
The Puffstalk is an enemy only appearing in Hey! Pikmin. It hides in holes and comes out occasionally. When it comes out there will be an opportunity to defeat it. The Puffstalk is a smaller and younger version of the Puffstool. Once defeated it would shrivel up and die.
Toxstool
The Toxstool only appears in Pikmin 4. It is a poisonous version of the Puffstool, thus only White Pikmin can defeat it. It functions similarly to the Puffstool by still flipping around, but instead of hypnotising Pikmin it instead poisons them. It only produces little mushrooms, Moldy Dwarf Bulborbs and Moldy Slooches. Its design is the Puffstool but painted in the poisonous theme and has white spots.
Moldy Dwarf Bulborb
The Moldy Dwarf Bulborb appears only in Pikmin 4. It can be spawned by the Toxstool when it feels threatened. The Moldy Dwarf Bulborb functions like a Dwarf Bulborb but poisonous, thus White Pikmin are the best candidate to take down the Moldy Dwarf Bulborb. It is also a redesign of the Dwarf Bulborb but with poisonous features.
Moldy Slooch
The Moldy Slooch appears in Pikmin 4 only. It can be spawned by the Toxstool, it is also functionally similar to the Pyroclasmic Slooch, as it eats Pikmin using its tongue. Since it is poisonous, White Pikmin are the most suitable to do it. It is also striped with turquoise stripes and a fungus living on its back.
Mushroom Pikmin
The Mushroom Pikmin or more commonly known as the Puffmin, only appear in Pikmin. They are hypnotised Pikmin created by the Puffstool. They directly attack the Leader, instead of the Pikmin. They also retain their abilities from their Pikmin type, a hypnotised Red Pikmin are immune to fire and a hypnotised Blue Pikmin are oblivious to water.
