Bilious Bulborb NL

Bilious Bulborbs are a mechanical variety of bulborb that can be found the Pikmin Adventure attraction of Nintendo Land. They are typically used as minibosses or rare enemies. When they appear as enemies, they are smaller than when they are minibosses, similarly to how the Bladed Beeb is handled when it is an enemy.

Design/Anatomy

Bilious Bulborbs have a brown mouth and a dull yellow body. At the first encounter they are about the size of a Large-Mouth Wollywog, or about twice the size of the player. Instead of one weak point like normal Pikmin Adventure Bulborbs, it has three. One on the top, and two on it's sides. It has black, snake-like pupils and a yellow sclera, brighter than it's body.

Attacks + Tells

The Bilious Bulborb first shows up as the Lord of a Barren Land's boss. It can shoot spiked balls in a circle and water bubbles, as well as charging at the player. However, it only rarely charges and shoots water bubbles.

  • It's spiked ball attack is foreshadowed when it faces the sky and roars. It will shoot in the direction it was facing and turns about[1] 270 degrees shooting one spiked ball about[2] every 54 degrees.
  • The water bubble attack is foreshadowed when it faces the sky but does not roar.
  • The charging is foreshadowed like how all Bulborb charges are; faces slightly down, and puffs of smoke come from behind them.

Strategies

Most if not all of the Bilious Bulborb's attacks have lots of foreshadowing and lots of time to react. As long as you don't get greedy with attacks, you should be okay.

  • Stunning it with boulders works, but it only stuns it if you hit it in the face/mouth. It still will deal damage as well.
  • You can use a well-timed bomb throw to hit two or all three segments.
  • It's side weak points can be punched by Olimar, but this is not reccommeded, since the punch is very weak. Player pikmin will be the best for the side weak spots, as sometimes thrown pikmin can be blocked be the Bulborb's head/mouth.
  • Like most Bulborbs, it takes a second to breathe after a charge, so use this oppurtunity to do as much damage as possible.
  1. Not positve about 270 degrees but looks like it.
  2. Not positve of 54 degrees, but using math that would be even.
