A Crested Mockiwi is an enemy encountered in Hey! Pikmin. It resembles a regular Mockiwi, but with a purple body, and a tuft of pink feathers on its head. It behaves almost identically to the regular Mockiwi, and is most commonly seen sleeping.

"It's similar to a regular Mockiwi in many ways. I can't see any purpose for the crest beyond a distinctive look. Then again, nobody knows what the company president's hair is for either. Maybe that's why he has less and less of it every year."
Battle Strategy

Fighting a Crested Mockiwi is the same as fighting a regular one, but a bit easier. The Crested ones are almost always found sleeping, so you get an advantage at the start where you can immediately throw your Pikmin on top of it. The Crested Mockiwi does, however, shake off Pikmin much earlier than the yellow ones. If it shakes your Pikmin off, whistle for them and quickly make some distance, then throw them back onto the Mockiwi.
