Muggonfly

A Muggonfly is an enemy encountered in Hey! Pikmin. It is only encountered in Sector 8-D; Olimar's Madcap Ride. It is seen halfway through the stage, flying on carrying many sparklium seeds. It has no attacks and cannot harm Pikmin, and also cannot be defeated.

Muggonflies can't hurt you or your Pikmin, and can't be defeated either. Just head quickly to the area one appears and try to get as much sparklium as you can before it flies off.

It's Scientific name roughly translates to "Spore Sac Dragon"
Its purpose is similar to the Nectarous Dandelfly, where its purpose is to deliver nectar, the Muggonfly's purpose is to deliver sparklium.
