Raiden (ライデン) is a melee combat Ride Armor from the Mega Man X series that was developed by the Repliforce.[1] Due to its high performance, it was a dominating Ride Armor that stayed in the front lines for a long time.
Raiden
In Mega Man X4 a Ride Armor Raiden can be found in Magma Dragoon's stage and Slash Beast's stage. The Raiden has a built-in electromagnetic blade in the arms, being able to perform a combo of two slashes if the fire button is pressed twice: a drilling stab and an overhead energy slash. It can perform a charged attack, which produces a lance of energy that is thrust forward. It can also withstand lava, and can destroy certain rocked walls and train cars. Plus, for the first time in the series, the player can take the Ride Armor into a boss battle (in this case, against Magma Dragoon).
In Mega Man X5, the Ride Armor is featured in the second part of Burn Dinorex's stage, which keeps the rider safe while underneath molten magma.
In Mega Man X6, the Ride Armor is featured in Metal Shark Player's stage. It can be used to avoid being crushed in the first compressor. A second Ride Armor will be available to the player if they enter the stage's Another Route.
Enemy
A dark Raiden piloted by a Repliforce soldier is an enemy in Mega Man X4 and X5. They appear in Magma Dragoon's stage, Slash Beast's stage, and Burn Dinorex's stage.
Raiden II

Raiden II (ライドンII) is a new version of the Raiden found in Mega Man X7. It has four legs and a drill arm, increasing its speed and power. Its basic attacks are a triple-punch combo on the ground, and a spinning helicopter lariat when midair. Its special attack on the ground has it jump into the air and stomp down to create an explosion, while its midair special attack is a similar stomp that creates no explosion and instead bounces off of enemies. The Raiden II can only be found in Vanishing Gungaroo's stage.
Other media
In the Rockman X4 manga, a Raiden can be seen while Zero is fighting Repliforce troops (who are actually fighting for Sigma's interests). Zero is skewered through the chest from behind by a Repliforce soldier in Raiden Ride Armor aboard Slash Beast's superclass train. The mechanical blood that comes out of his wound causes Zero to have visions of his past as a Maverick and of Sigma when the latter was still the Commander of the Maverick Hunters. Zero eventually regains his resolve and remembers his mission to save an infected Iris and defeats the soldier with a hard punch to the Ride Armor, knocking him out of it.

Trivia
- The term Raiden is a Japanese and usually transcribed into kanji "雷電" in most occasion, which means "thunder and lighting".
- The name may be a reference to the game series of the same name, whose logo is a red fighter aircraft.
