Ice Burst (アイスバースト Aisu Bāsuto) is a Special Weapon obtained by X from defeating Blizzard Wolfang in Mega Man X6.
Description
When equipped with Ice Burst, X shoots out an ice block with three shards of ice in a spread pattern. If the ice block hits the ground without hitting anything else, X can use it as a platform. When Ice Burst is fully charged, X starts to glow, and when he dashes, he makes icicles shoot out in the wake behind him. This can be done on the ground or in the air. With the Blade Armor, X can even send icicles horizontally by performing vertical Mach Dash in the air.
It is interesting to note that Ice Burst can not only be used as a platform, but it can also be used to destroy the Nightmare Ice that coats the surfaces in Metal Shark Player's stage—in normal fire, only the small shards can destroy them; when charged, only when the icicles make contact with the ice.
This weapon is Rainy Turtloid's weakness.
