E-Blade

E-Blade (possibly an abbr. for "Electric Blade"), known as Denjin (電刃 lit. "Electric Blade") in Japan, is the special technique that Zero learns after defeating Volt Kraken in Mega Man X5. By pressing UP on the D-Pad and the FIRE button while Zero is on the ground, he will jump up diagonally with an electrified Z-Saber blade that leaves streams of electricity behind.

E-Blade is the weakness of Shining Firefly, U-555, Prism Guardian, Shadow Devil, Rangda Bangda W's red eye component, and Sigma's first form.

  • For E-Blade, the first number is damage inflicted from the actual electric blade; the second number is damage inflicted from the streams of electricity that follow it.
  • For Rangda Bangda W's Sun component, since the floor becomes lined with spikes when Zero fights it, he is only allowed to perform a few of his techniques and Saber slashes under normal circumstances. If the player intentionally makes Zero make contact with the Sun component and take damage, however, they can actually use E-Blade by taking advantage of the temporary invincibility to the spikes before it wears off and gets immediately killed from the spikes thereafter.

Trivia

  • This is the only X5 skill of Zero's that is more directly translated in the localizations compared to his other attacks.
  • Some of the cracked floors in the sunken ship area can be destroyed using this technique (either by hitting the floor with the blade or by the streams of electricity that follow it), providing easier access to items.
