Metal Tires are a set of unlockable tires in Mario Kart 8 and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. They are shaped like a four-blade boat rotor and, as their name suggests, have a silver-gray metal running surface. Metal tires add significant weight. This is the same weight as Monster Tires and Hot Monster Tires, albeit slightly faster. But they also significantly impede traction and acceleration. Your stats are shared with Gold Hoop. In Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, CPU Iggy, Bowser, and Dry Bones use Steel Drivers, Metal Mario uses Tri-Speeder or Jet Bike, and Dry Bowser uses Bone Rattler and Pink Gold Peach uses this tire on the Comet.
