Music Bashes are a species in the Mario Kart series. They first appear in Mario Kart 7. Prior to Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, they were named Bouncing Notes.
Profile
Physical description
Music Bashes have the appearance of large, black eighth notes. Their facial features consist of entirely white eyes, an orange, button nose, and a white mouth.
Behavior
Music Bashes bounce in tune with the melody of the course's theme. Upon landing, a Music Bash creates waves that lift all racers on their section up a little. Three metronome-like ticks play before Music Bashes can be heard before they land. Bouncing Notes bounce faster during the final lap.
In Mario Kart series
Mario Kart 7
Bouncing Notes are encountered toward the end of Music Park. A racer can perform a trick whenever a Bouncing Note creates waves upon landing. If a Bouncing Note lands on a racer, they are flattened.
Mario Kart 8/Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Bouncing Notes retain their role from Mario Kart 7. Aside from them, smaller Bouncing Notes appear near the finish line as spectators of the race.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit
Music Bashes are encountered in Music Broadway, where they bounce back and forth on the xylophone keys.
