Sneeks are common enemies resembling rats found in Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble! and Donkey Kong Land III. Sneeks are the Donkey Kong Country 3 equivalent to Neeks from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest and Gnawties from the original Donkey Kong Country.
Sneeks appear to take on a more realistic and scarier look (as opposed to a Neek). Their approach to the Kongs has not changed much from the Neeks and Gnawties from the prior games, however, as they merely walk along the ground of the stage.
Despite having a non-threatening first impression when found normally, they actually have a much more important role in the game than before. Notably, they pose a bigger threat to the animal buddy Ellie. If Ellie sees one under a light, she will freak out and retreat out of fear, which is most commonly seen in Murky Mill. In Squeals on Wheels, they appear to be running in mills to power the factory, and must be defeated to advance through the factory. In Stampede Sprint, Ellie gets so terrified by three of them scaring her, she stampedes until the end of the level, hence the level name.
In Donkey Kong Land III, they play the same role, but don't scare Ellie anymore.
