Krackas, Japanese (クラッカ, Kurakka), are the red explosive sub-species brothers of Knocka wearing red painted TNT Barrels. They are the land version of Klasps. Like Knocka, Klasp and Kuchuka, a menacing face is painted on their barrel.
History
Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!
Krackas are an unused enemy of the original SNES version Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!. Nine years later though, Krackas reappear in the Game Boy Advance version of the game and is exclusively found in the Pacifica level, Stormy Seas.
Kracka is the equivalent and successor of Kabooms from Donkey Kong Country 2: Diddy's Kong Quest. Kracka runs at Dixie and Kiddy when the two are in sight, in the same vain as Knocka. However, if contact is made, it explodes, injuring one of the monkeys. However, if jumped on, it curls up into a regular TNT Barrel. However, unlike regular TNT Barrels, Kracka, when thrown, can bounce and roll until it hits an enemy or a wall. This gives Kracka more range than a normal TNT Barrel, which usually explodes upon hitting the ground.
An unused sprite for Kracka appears in the original SNES version of Donkey Kong Country 3. Krackas were not named in the game itself or its supplementary material. Instead, it originates from an unused text string in the end credits, near Knocka's name.
