Kowalees are purple koala enemies that float through the air using flying vehicles in Donkey Kong Country Returns and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D. These enemies try to fling bombs at the unsuspecting Donkey and Diddy Kong, and can be proved a challenge when trying to pass over gaps. Kowalees are only be found in the Golden Temple level.
Appearance
Kowalees are purple koalas with black ties. They fly in vehicles with a single propeller at the bottom. That also appear to have an angry expression, as well as two black eyes and a big black nose. Their ears are massive, along with their hands. Their propellers appear to have four blades on them, as well as a wooden base to support them.
Strategy
The strategy to take out these enemies is to throw the bombs they throw back at them, knocking them off the screen. You must also avoid bombs when traveling over long gaps, as they are more seen as projectiles. When defeated, they then get thrown off of the screen, screaming as they fall into the abyss.
