"The Vamp-Opera" is the first segment of the forty-second episode of Vampirina. It premiered on October 18, 2019 and is the first segment of the seventeenth episode of the second season.
Synopsis
Vampirina uses magic to write a new song for her block party that accidentally puts the whole town under a singing spell.
Plot
Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget perform a song about stringy cheese, and they agree that it's not good enough for tomorrow's block party. They haven't been coming up with anything good so far, and Poppy decides on a spell to get a new song to sing. Vampirina is against the idea, but decides to go along. She decides to do a hybrid spell, which is when two spells are put together. One makes a songbird more musical, and the other makes a bedroom furniture tell someone a bedtime story. Vampirina then recites the spell for everyone.
As a result, Vampirina begins to sing, followed by Poppy and Bridget. She mentions that she read the spell wrong, and made the world a great big musical. Vampirina then calls Demi and Gregoria and mentions what happened. Gregoria mentions that hybrids are twice as tough to break than a normal spell, and is unsure of how long it lasts. Demi then offers a duet, but Gregoria mentions that it's time for bed and the spell may be gone the next day. Everyone then heads to bed, but the next morning, they are still singing.
Vampirina then decides to tell Oxana and Boris about the singing spell, which they are under, as well. Chef Remy Bones and Wolfie also show up, being under the spell. Boris promises Vampirina that the curse will be lifted. After breakfast, Poppy tells everyone that Edna is stuck in song, as well, and is unaware of the song and melodies that fill the air. Edna and Edgar then arrive, the latter making a video to show behind the scenes. Vampirina and Poppy then see that the spell hit the whole entire town, which sings about how great life is, and how it is a song.
Mr. Gore shows up and is just as happy. As the town continues to sing, Gregoria states that it is enough. Vampirina is the only one who can undo the spell, and makes the potion to break the singing spell. As a result, everyone talks again, and is happy about it. Edna and Edgar arrive, and Vampirina, Poppy, and Bridget have a new song to perform at the block party, that being to make a song out of anything, which is a success.
