"Fang Ten!" is the first segment of the sixty-first episode of Vampirina. It is the first half of the eleventh episode of the third season. It premiered on October 19, 2020.
Synopsis
A heat wave in Pennsylvania sends the Hauntley crew to Screech Beach, the spookiest monster beach in Transylvania!
Plot
Vampirina heads in the Scare B&B with Wolfie when Boris mentions that the weather will be extra sunny this weekend. So, the Hauntleys are preparing for their trip to Screechy Beach, the most bat-tastic Transylvanian beach, and mention what it contains. Vampirina likes it, and Gregoria mentions how great Oxana was at surfing. Since no one is booked at the Scare B&B this weekend, the Hauntleys will go to the beach.
Once there, they prepare for their activities. Boris mentions that when he attempted to surf, he wiped out, and Oxana came and rescued him, which is how they met. So, Boris decides to cheer from the sand, which he is the best at. Vampirina and Boris then watch Oxana's surfing abilities on the full moon tide. Narcisa and Cosmina show up, impressed at Oxana's skills. Oxana tells them to fang ten themselves, and Boris states that's how monster surfers talk to teach other. Demi translates some words spoken in the language. Narcisa and Cosmina think Vampirina can be a great surfer, and Oxana decides to teach her.
First, they practice on the sand, but Vampirina tumbles the first time. She improves the next attempt, and Oxana mentions the different cool surf moves she did, including the upside-down bat-tail slide. Vampirina wants to do it, but she needs a lot of practice. Oxana invented the move on her first day. Meanwhile, Wolfie makes off with Chef Remy Bones' hand. Vampirina and Oxana will catch some waves to really learn the moves. Oxana mentions that to do the upside-down bat-tail slide, most monsters need to work up to it. She and Vampirina decide to start with the basics.
Meanwhile, Gregoria is finishing his sand castle when Bones' arm pops out, and Wolfie makes off with it again. Vampirina was hoping surfing would still be her thing, as everyone said Oxana was so good at it right away. Gregoria mentions that moms and daughters aren't alike. Vampirina wants to be like Oxana, but she hasn't been in the water yet. She decides to get out on the waves, and tells Demi and Gregoria that everything will be fine.
Vampirina tries the upside-down bat-tail slide, but when she stumbles, Oxana saves her and states that she shouldn't go in the water without her. Vampirina apologizes, as she was trying to be like Oxana, but couldn't do the move. Oxana states that there are a lot of things that come easily to Vampirina, but for herself, they take a lot of work. She also mentions that when she learned she wasn't good at the spookylele, she tried to learn the hardest song on the first day, and it didn't go well. That's when Gregoria got her stone earplugs. Oxana mentions that every vampire learns at her own pace, no matter how long it takes. She is proud of Vampirina just the way she is. Vampirina starts with the basics of surfing with Oxana teaching her, and catches her first wave. Boris shows up and calls the beach. Vampirina loves surfing, and the Hauntleys surf together. Later, Bones finds his arm, and Vampirina states that Screechy Beach was even better than she imagined.
