"Au Revoir Remy" is the first segment of the forty-ninth episode of Vampirina. It premiered on March 27, 2020 on Disney Jr. and the Disney Channel and is the first segment of the twenty-fourth episode of the second season.
Synopsis
Remy says "au revoir" to the Hauntley's so he can become head chef at the Catacomb Café.
Plot
Vampirina wakes up to the smell of food, and Chef Remy Bones reveals that he prepared a breakfast buffet for them this morning. He mentions what it contains, and Vampirina likes it. Bones states that the trick is to cook with love. The Hauntleys like it, and Bones is nervous, as he has received word from the Catacomb Cafe that the head chef is retiring, and he is picked as the replacement. Demi mentions what the cafe is, and Bones states that he can achieve all of his food dreams there. However, that means he is leaving the Hauntleys, and Vampirina is happy for him.
Bones mentions that they say Au Revoir to say goodbye, and also means he can see the Hauntleys again. He sings about how great it is to have his dreams come true and being the toast of all Paris. The Hauntleys will handle the kitchen until they find a new chef. Demi will be the temporary chef while Oxana and Boris bring in Transylvanian fruits and vegetables from the garden. Vampirina decides to be the sous-chef while Gregoria is the hostess. Bones then gives the Hauntleys his cookbook before leaving.
Oxana tells Vampirina that the Hauntleys will see Bones again. Vampirina and Demi then arrive at the kitchen, with Gregoria practicing his smile. Oxana and Boris then arrive with the fruits and vegetables before leaving for Transylvania to scare up a replacement for Bones. All the Hauntleys have to do is follow Bones' recipes, according to his cookbook. The guests then arrive, revealing themselves to be Grogg and Sherry. Vampirina states they're ready, and Gregoria states that the food is slime burgers and scream salad with bluey dressing. Grogg and Sherry mention what they want, and Gregoria then sees Vampirina and Demi struggling with the ingredients, as the recipes are all in skeleton recipes. So, Demi decides to serve the trolls spookghetti with scream-balls.
Dem then prepares the food, but accidentally puts all of the monstro-powder, and the food comes to life. The monster then makes a mess, and Demi transports himself and Vampirina to the Catacomb Cafe to get help from Bones. He mentions that there is one ingredient missing for a perfect soup, which he hasn't been able to put his bones on. He also misses the Hauntleys' kitchen back home, which felt more alive than the cafe. Vampirina and Demi then arrive, and ask Bones for help. They then return to the kitchen, where they see the Spookghetti monster. Bones then twists it so that it is under control. As for the hungry trolls, Bones serves up the perfect recipe for them, and they like it. Bones then announces his return to the Catacomb Cafe just as Boris introduces the replacement chef: Chef Rani Bones. Vampirina tells Oxana everything, and Remy decides to give training to Rani.
Rani is told about the recipe Vampirina likes, and is told to feed the Spookghetti monster a little bit of parmesan cheese once in a while. Rani is given Vampirina's lunch box, and later, Remy tells the Hauntleys they have another candidate to consider: himself, as his dreams have changed. His new dream is to cook for the Hauntleys and watch Vampirina grow up. He mentions that life is more fun when there is flying food and Spookghetti monsters in the kitchen instead of fancy cuisines, and that it is better to cook for those he loves, which are the Hauntleys. As for Rani, Remy assigned her a job in the Catacomb Cafe, and she and the other chefs decide to make it better than it was before.
