"Mirror Monster" is the second segment of the fifty-eighth episode of Vampirina. It is the second half of the eighth episode of the third season. It premiered on October 14, 2020.
Synopsis
The new B&B guest has a hard time being himself and hides in the mirrors.
Plot
Chef Remy Bones serves the Hauntleys breakfast when the doorbell rings. Vampirina thinks it's Poppy and Bridget, who show up with monster-sized mail. Demi and Gregoria wonder what it could be. They bring it in, and Oxana mentions that the Hauntleys are hosting a mirror monster. Since mirrors are very fragile, they always travel by delivery. Bridget is scared, but Oxana knows that mirror monsters get along with everyone.
When everyone brings it out of the package, the mirror monster reveals himself as Rippley, who had to come to the Scare B&B since every monster is talking about it. Oxana tells Vampirina to bring Rippley to his room and give him a tour of the house. Rippley heads out of the mirror, and he and Vampirina like each other's outfits. Rippley then matches Vampirina's outfit, and mentions that mirror monsters can wear what one wears and do what one does. Vampirina brings Rippley to his room, and he likes it, as he loves scary and spooky stuff, like Vampirina.
Vampirina brings Rippley to the kitchen, where Bones is making Screechy Peachy Pizza. Rippley likes it, and Bones serves him a peach. Up next is the backyard, where Oxana manages to get her screaming violets to bloom. Rippley likes them, although they make him sneeze. Meanwhile, Gregoria likes rock gardening, and so does Rippley, who likes the same rocks as him. Demi juggles with them, and so does Rippley. Vampirina notices that he has so much in common with the Hauntleys. Poppy reiterates Oxana's statement about mirror monsters getting along with everyone. Penelope scares Bridget and Rippley, who are both scared of spooky things.
Rippley states he loves spooky things, but he is a lot like Bridget. He then goes to get the Screechy Peachy Pizza while Vampirina is confused about Rippley. She and her friends see Rippley loving everything Wolfie loves, as well. Rippley also likes chew toys, but Gregoria reminds them that chew toys are for werewolves. However, Rippley told Vampirina he likes spooky things and Bridget he didn't. He is scared to tell the truth, and goes back to his mirror. Vampirina apologizes to him for hurting his feelings. Rippley states that he always likes everything that everyone else does, even though it's not really him, because he's a mirror monster. Vampirina states it's okay to be different from others, as they'll still be his friend. Rippley assumes it's just easier being everyone else. However, he doesn't have to be like anyone else; he should be himself. Rippley can be honest with them, but he is nervous, and wonders if he doesn't make any friends. Rippley mentions the things he could do if he could be himself.
Vampirina understands, and mentions that she was nervous to be herself when she first came to Pennsylvania. Eventually, when her friends got to know her, she liked her. Poppy and Bridget love Vampirina because she's different from them. They're different, but they still find things they like to do together. Rippley likes it, and decides to be himself. First, he prefers monsterella pizza over Screechy Peachy. Everyone likes it, and Rippley tells Oxana that he doesn't like screaming violets, as their screams make him sneeze. Rippley prefers spider decor, which has more legs. Rippley decides to give rock gardening a try, as rocks don't make him sneeze. Penelope loves Rippley, and so does everyone else. He shows his new outfit, one more spooky. Rippley then dances, which he never shown anyone before, and everyone is impressed. Rippley finally accepts that it feels good to show them who he is, and is not afraid to be himself. They all gather for a hug, and when Wolfie arrives, Rippley states he loves playing tug-of-war, as it is also what makes him himself.
