Samir is a character available for the Echelon in XDefiant.
Background
When Samir was young, he had an interest in soldering irons and circuitry sets, with which his Algerian immigrant parents saved frugally to provide resources for his engineering prowess. Samir created his own working surveillance technology, the only kid on his Chicago block to have so. Samir had dreams of becoming the person who creates spy gadgets, rather than being a spy himself.
Samir joined the marines at 18 to help pay for college, entering MIT's PhD program. The CIA was interested in his technological prowess and tenacity, having headhunted him since his school days. Samir's first job in the CIA was to design the identity-transformation gear that smuggled an American ambassador outside of a hostile zone.
As a part of Echelon, Samir makes cutting-edge stealth gear for spies who want to stay hidden while performing reconnaissance on the battlefield. Samir himself uses his own invented gear as a spy, the most proficient to do so.
