Introduced in Wargame: European Escalation, TO-62 was one of the three Flamethrower Tanks available to Warsaw Pact forces at the time. In Wargame: AirLand Battle, TO-62 was re-rolled to Vehicle, instead of Tank, despite already classified as Flamethrower Vehicle.
History
Like its cousin TO-55, the TO-62 mounted the ATO-200 flamethrower coaxially with the 115 mm gun.
Overview and tactics
Efficient and versatile, the TO-62 is a useful tool in maps where infantry takes an important part, and can still be useful on bigger maps. One is to be used in combination with infantry but shouldn't try to attack infantry positions on its own. Its slow speed and small operational range however require more attention than the previous version, for only a slightly better armor (+1 Front). Like the other PACT flamethrower tanks, it is armed with a rather weak main canon and a flamethrower. TO-62 does not carry any HE rounds for its 115mm main gun, while total ammo is already less than regular T-62s.
In European Escalation, TO-55 must be unlocked in order to use TO-62. Both of the tanks cost the same 30 points, while their differences are the same ones between regular T-55s and T-62s. Nevertheless, both of them are vastly superior to NATO's M132 Zippo for a higher price.
