History
On January 23, 2025, Dreamtonics Co., Ltd. kicked off its participation in the annual NAMM Show, held at the Anaheim Convention Center until the 25th.[1] For people who were unable to attend NAMM 2025 in person, Dreamtonics prepared an exclusive preview video where Kanru Hua showed off a preliminary build of Synthesizer V Studio 2; Ryo 2 was listed among the newly-updated voice databases shown as installed on his copy of SVS2, although he was not given a demonstration there.[2]
On February 13, Dreamtonics opened pre-orders for Synthesizer V Studio 2 on its international store, as well as pre-orders for Synthesizer V 2 AI versions of all of its signature voice databases, including Ryo 2. The release date was set to March 21. Also, a limited-period campaign was launched that would allow current owners of Dreamtonics' Synthesizer V AI voice databases (like Ryo) to upgrade them to their Synthesizer V 2 AI versions at deep discounts.[3]
On February 20, Ryo 2 received his first demonstration song featuring a cover of アレカコニア (Arekakonia), one of his last demonstrations used for his previous edition.
Ryo 2 was released on March 21 as expected.

Voice Databases
- While Ryo 2 has a good and strong middle-range suited for pop music, Dreamtonics stated that he is flexible enough to be used in various genres and tempos.
- Ryo 2 is able to sing more realistically through changes in volume and breath, further enriching singing details, making each singing unique, and providing creators with more options. Through this mode, he can use AI Retakes to create multiple "takes" of a sung section to find an ideal vocal without the need for "laborious tuning". This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.
- Phonetic format: Romaji
- Through Cross-lingual Singing Synthesis, Ryo 2 can sing in not only Japanese but also in English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese Chinese, Spanish, and Korean. This feature is only available in the Synthesizer V Studio 2 Pro Editor.
