Mo Xu (Simplified Chinese: 陌叙; Traditional Chinese: 陌敘) is a Mandarin Chinese vocal developed and distributed by Dreamtonics Co., Ltd., and released as one of three complementary AI voice databases (the other two being Mai 2 and Liam) for Synthesizer V Studio 2 in March 2025. A paid edition was also released for those who choose not to select Mo Xu as the free starter voice database.[1][2]
Her voice provider has not been revealed.
Concept
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals before her, Mo Xu was intended to be treated as an official voice database or an indispensable "reference-level" type of singing voice, representing Dreamtonics's brand quality.
Mo Xu was designed to exhibit "a combination of strength, emotion & versatility, allowing users to deliver powerful vocal performances resonating deeply with listeners". She was also described to be "ideal for R&B, neo soul, pop & similar genres."[3]
Etymology
The character, "Mo" (陌; Mò), can mean "street", "path", or "road". The character, "Xu" (叙; Xù), means "to narrate" or "to talk". The name can represent the distinct style traits that a female R&B singers have, as well as the slow and narrative singing styles and the often personal and subtle expressions of R&B songs in general, creating a detached yet delicate atmosphere.
Appearance
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, rather than having an official human-like avatar, Mo Xu is represented by an abstract symbol, the letters M and X, which are drawn from the first letters per Chinese character of her name in romanization. The letters are light brown in color with hints of light beige. The top of the M's arches are flat rather than pointed, while the X is cut diagonally on its corners (with the bottom corners partially cropped by the icon's border). The "X" is shorter than the "M". Characterization is left to the song producers themselves rather than the product, so Mo Xu is open to any form of visual interpretation, allowing the producer to decide what they would like her to look like.

Additional Information
Marketing
Like previous Dreamtonics vocals, Mo Xu was treated as an official or standard vocal for the engine, where she could potentially be found in demonstrations of Synthesizer V Studio 2 and its AI capabilities. This also meant that she would be among the first vocals to be equipped with the latest engine updates. Mo Xu was one of the focal voices of marketing Synthesizer V Studio 2.
