Sheep (Animal)

The Sheep^[1] (ヒツジ^[2], Hitsuji^?) is a creature that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a race of small sheep animals used for raising Chao.

Sonic the Hedgehog CD

The Sheep made their appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog CD, where they are shown to inhabit Little Planet. In this game, Sheep will appear and happily prance around in Metallic Madness alongside other Animals in the good future

Sonic Adventure 2/Sonic Adventure 2: Battle

In gameplay, Sheeps can alter the stats, appearance and personality of a Chao. These animals are either found inside Badnik enemies or the second Chao Container opened in an Action Stage, or hiding somewhere in the Action Stages, usually inside Cages or Pipes. In the first case, simply destroy the Badnik to release the Sheep inside. When the Sheeps roam free, the player must touch them to pick them up. Also, when released from Badniks, the Sheeps will have a green sphere around them which disappears shortly afterwards. They are found in the following Action Stages:

Upon entering a Chao Garden with a Sheep, it will leave the playable character and run around the garden. Should the player give a Sheep to a Chao, the Chao will embrace it, attaining its appearance and behavior and raising its stats according to the Sheep's. The Sheep will then disappear shortly after.
