Hyper Knuckles[1] (ハイパーナックルズ Haipā Nakkuruzu?) is a transformation that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is the Hyper State of Knuckles the Echidna, being gained by tapping into the power of seven Super Emeralds.
Appearance

As he appears identical to Super Knuckles, Knuckles does not receive any physical changes during this transformation, but his fur pulses from red to a whitish pink. Unlike his Super State, however, any fast movement he makes leaves after-images, similar to Hyper Sonic.
Powers and abilities
While in Hyper form, Knuckles' natural abilities are multiplied many times over; his already impressive strength, speed and accuracy increase vastly, and he is virtually invulnerable as long as the transformation lasts. Since Hyper Knuckles is an enhanced version of Super Knuckles, all of his physical abilities further surpass that of his traditional Super State and he gains additional abilities as well. When gliding into a wall at full speed, Hyper Knuckles can perform a shock wave attack that causes a sudden earthquake and destroys all Badnik enemies on-screen,[2] and he can now breathe underwater as well.
Like most other super transformations obtained by the Chaos/Super Emeralds, once the player runs out of Rings, the Act Boss is defeated, or if Knuckles enters a Bonus Stage, he reverts back to normal.
In the Sonic Origins/Sonic Origins Plus remaster of Sonic 3 & Knuckles, after activating a feature in the Sound Test, Hyper Knuckles gains additional abilities: by pressing the jump button during a Spin Jump, Hyper Knuckles is able to take flight until he touches the ground or damages a boss. This ability effectively upgrades his Glide although he cannot climb walls. Also, by pressing the jump button while in flight, Hyper Knuckles will burst forward with instantaneous speed while the screen flashes, consuming five Rings in the process.

Archie Comics
In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by Archie Comics, Knuckles has a transformation called Hyper Knuckles. However, this transformation can actually be classified as Super Knuckles, which is caused by a super transformation, rather than a Hyper form and is merely a name Knuckles has given it.
