naevis (나이비스; also stylized as nævis) is a virtual singer under SM Entertainment. She made her debut on September 10, 2024 with the digital single "Done".
Concept
naevis is the first virtual artist under SM Entertainment. She is a supporting character of the aespa's universe who guide and helps the members and their avatars by opening the P.O.S (Port of Soul) connecting the Flat world, the Real World, and the Kwangya SM center.
naevis will be using a voice created with artificial intelligence as well as content generated by AI. Her IP universe will expand through music, webtoons, games, brand collaborations, and merchandise.[1]
On December 12, 2024, SM Entertainment and MBC signed a business agreement to develop virtual content. They plan to collaborate in various ways, with naevis appearing on the Show! Music Core.[2]
Career
2024: Debut with "Done"
On May 8, 2024, SM Entertainment announced that naevis will be releasing her debut single in the third quarter of 2024.[3] On August 21, SM Entertainment released a teaser video for naevis, confirming that she will be making her debut in September.[1] An additional teaser revealed that she will be releasing the digital single "Done" on September 10.[4]
2025: Upcoming release
On November 5, 2024, SM Entertainment shared plans for naevis' second single, aiming for release in the fourth quarter of 2024.[5] On February 10, 2025, SM Entertaiment revealed that naevis will be releasing two singles in the first and second quarter of the year.[6]
