DearALICE

dearALICE is a five-member UK-based boy group under SM Entertainment and MOON&BACK MEDIA. They made their debut on February 21, 2025 with the single album "Ariana".

The band's name consists of the word 'Dear', symbolizing a letter to their fans and 'Alice'. Dexter came up with the idea that 'ALICE' stands for 'A Love I Can't Explain'. They came up with the band's name after visiting a restaurant called 'Dear Alice' in Itaewon.

History

Pre-debut: Made in Korea : The K-Pop Experience

In November 2023, SM Entertainment and the newly established MOON&BACK announced their intentions of launching a reality show focused on producing a British boy band under the Korean idol training system.[2] MOON&BACK will be in charge of casting, while SM will provide production for music, music videos, and choreography.[3] The group is scheduled to debut in the last quarter of 2024.[4]

On July 11, 2024, BBC One announced they had acquired the rights for the six-episode series titled Made in Korea : The K-Pop Experience. It aired from August 17 to September 21, 2024.[5]

On August 1, all five members were introduced.[6] The group is scheduled to debut in February 2025.[7]

In November 2024, Kakao Entertainment and SM Entertainment signed a partnership with American media company gamma. to distribute and offer label services to the group.[8]

2025: Debut with "Ariana"

On January 11, 2025, the group performed at SMTOWN Live 2025 Tour, where they premiered their debut single "Ariana", and announced that it will be officially released on February 21.[9]
