Background
On June 27, 2018, Doja Cat produced and wrote the song during Instagram Live. Of this livestream, a short clip of her producing the instrumental was shared, also a 1-minute-long snippet of the verse to the chorus, along with a screenshot.
Around early July 2018, Doja played the song during Instagram Live again, however only a short snippet of the intro was shared.
On December 11, 2021, Doja took to Instagram Live to play some of her older unreleased songs, one of which included "AQUARIUM". She played a few seconds of the songs intro before stopping and stating that she dislikes it. The full song currently remains unheard.
