Myles Joo (주승진, "Joo Seungjin," Seungjin Joo) is a supporting character in the Manhwa Weak Hero. Myles was the original head of Hyeongshin High, and former founding member of the Yeongdeungpo Union before he was excommunicated by Donald Na for attempting a coup by allying with former Manwol members and making secret deals behind Donald's back. He is now the leader of the remnants of the Manwol, and considered the fourth strongest delinquent in Yeongdeungpo.
Appearance
Myles has short purple hair styled into an undercut and piercing yellow eyes. His face is usually covered by his a distinct clothing style, wearing a hoodie over a cap. Myles Joo is one of the tallest characters, being just taller than Forrest Lee by a few inches. He wears a lot of trendy clothing, as observed with his designer hoodies.
Personality
Myles is less arrogant than most members of the Union as he will usually pick his fights based on what he can gain from the fight rather than to flaunt his superiority. He also looks down on anyone weak who try to intimidate people with their image and connections, such as Phillip Kim who usually would let other people fight for him. Myles can be considered opportunistic as despite being one its original members, Myles had no loyalty to the Union or Donald Na, and was willing to side with Manwol to gain more power. After his excommunication, he is much more bitter and resentful of his former friends and hellbent on revenge against the Union.
History
Myles Joo was one of the original founding members of the Yeongdeungpo Union. He knew Donald Na longer than even Kingsley Kwan. When Donald wanted revenge against his stepfather, he had Myles and the rest of the gang hunt him down and drag stepbitch in front of him. After the gang had beaten him up, Donald also beat stepbitch up and broke three of his fingers. Myles was also shown to have infiltrated Yeowon Elementary School to copy the hard drive of Mr. Jeong's computer to gather dirt on him.
During middle school, he was enrolled in Naemun Middle School and was part of the Union's Action Squad. Myles was against Phillip Kim joining the Union as he saw Phillip as a trash-talking weakling who hid behind Donald Na for power and influence and was unable to fight on his own. This has ultimately caused Myles Joo to refuse to take down Ben Park because in doing so, Phillip would be the one reaping the rewards and benefits even though he and Phillip share Ben Park as a common enemy.[1]
When he entered high school, he became the head of Hyeongshin. After a while, Myles began making deals with Manwol after they started reforming. When he told his friend and right hand man, Forrest Lee, the latter snitched to Donald in the hopes of taking over Hyeongshin from Myles. Donald confronted Myles over his deals with Manwol, resulting in a fight, which Donald won easily. From that day forth, Myles was excommunicated from the Union.[2][3] Following his excommunication, Myles was replaced by Forrest Lee.
Myles officially joined Manwol and became it's leader, slowly gathering members over time in an attempt to take over Yeongdeungpo. Despite cutting ties with Hyeongshin and the Union, Myles still retained his friend Scorpion who became his info broker to monitor the Union's actions.

When Eugene mentions that Donald goes from school to school on the last day of every month for an accounting conference, and that the school closest to Eunjang would be Hyeongshin, Ben asks if it's Myles Joo that Donald’s meeting with. Eugene informs them that Myles was excommunicated by the Union, although he doesn't know why. Alex says that he heard about that too. They wonder who the current head of Hyeongshin is since Myles Joo was kicked out.
Forrest tells Donald that all Myles did was act as a figurehead and that he was the one who was actually managing and maintaining Hyeongshin all along. Donald comments that Myles isn't really chill enough to not hold a grudge and mentions that he thought Myles would act delusional again and make a big scene. Forrest says that there isn't much someone who's excommunicated can do to make a big scene.
Donald silently thinks that Myles, prior to being excommunicated, was competent and that Forrest lacks any presence compared to him. He says that Myles was so action-oriented that he was hard to calm down. Forrest thinks that since Jimmy was crushed, it won't be easy. Even though it's much more cumbersome than the days he had it easy standing behind Myles, as long as he can overcome that he'll profit way more than he did before.
A flashback shows Forrest asking why Myles doesn't crush Eunjang since he finds them annoying and they're not even in the Union. Myles asks who would benefit from it and that Eunjang is tricky to bring into the Union as long as Ben is there. He mentions Ben's rampage in the past and says it's not impossible if they plan and go to work, but he knows Phillip would benefit the most out of it.
Another flashback shows Myles watching Phillip walking by Donald's side and talking to him. Phillip gets on Myles' nerves because he knows without his money, Phillip is nothing but a weakling and an imposter. He does note that Phillip seems to mesh oddly well with Donald.
Myles tells Forrest to forget it when it comes to Eunjang and that it's been a pleasant change to not have to see Phillip's annoying face in the Union lately. Forrest recalls that Myles' hatred for Phillip goes way back and recalls how Myles always talked about how having someone who can only fight with their words is damaging to the Union. When Forrest asks Phillip for a photo of his guys so they don't get caught up in targeting Eunjang students, Phillip tells Forrest it's great talking to someone who has common sense, unlike Myles.

Relationships
Donald Na
Out of all the Union members, Donald has known Myles the longest, even prior to creating the Union. Myles was Donald's former second-in-command prior to Kingsley's recruitment. Back when the Union was in its starting stages, Donald had Myles help him with personal revenge against his abusive stepfather and elementary school teacher. Myles and some other gang members broke into Yeowon Elementary School to copy Mr. Jeong's hard drive. After Donald exposed Mr. Jeong's disgusting crimes, Donald sent Myles and the gang to beat him up. Donald also had them hunt down his stepfather and beat him up. After Myles was demoted, he began to resent Donald and eventually betrayed him by making secret deals with Manwol. Despite their history together, Donald did not hesitate to punish Myles Joo for his betrayal, going as far as to break his thigh bone.
After his excommunication, Myles still tried to mess with Donald and his Union. He and Manwol beat up Hyeongshin and stole money and files. They also waited until Donald was along, wounded, and exhausted from fighting Ben and Gray back-to-back to attack him while wielding metal bats.
Forrest Lee
Myles knew Forrest back when they were in middle school and Forrest became Myles' second-in-command. Myles trusted him to the point where he was the only one he told about his secret deals with Manwol. However, Forrest's desire for power triumphed over their friendship and he snitched to Donald resulting in Myles' excommunication and Forrest's promotion to school head. Myles held the grudge against Forrest and ambushed Forrest, Robin, and Grape at Sinjeong Bridge; although, for old time's sake, he did offer Forrest the chance if they just handed over the money and files. After Forrest refused, Myles and Manwol beat them up.
Phillip Kim
Myles does not get along with Phillip and thinks he has a silver spoon up his ass. He thinks without his money, Phillip is nothing. The main reason Myles never once went after Ben was because he knew it'd benefit Phillip.
Wolf Keum
Wolf had fought Myles for no particular reason and it had just been something he needed to do at least once. It is unknown who won the fight, but Myles mentions to Jake that he wouldn't want to fight someone like Wolf again.
Jake Ji
Myles was seemingly on decent terms with Jake, seeing as how Myles spoke to Jake about his [Myles'] fight against Wolf. It is unknown how Jake feels about Myles now that he is the leader of Manwol.
Jimmy Bae
No interaction between Jimmy and Myles was shown prior to Myles' excommunication, but sometime in Season 2, Myles offered Jimmy to team up. Jimmy had intended to accept Myles' offer, although he immediately changed his mind after he saw Myles and the remnants of Manwol defeated by the Mok-Ha Duo.
Scorpion
It can be assumed that when Myles was the head of Hyeongshin, Scorpion was most likely part of his inner circle. After Myles' excommunication, Scorpion was still loyal to him and informed him of Hyeongshin's route to Ganghak, resulting in Myles and Manwol ambushing Forrest, Robin, and Grape.
Abilities
Physical
Myles was considered the strongest student of Hyeongshin High and the fourth strongest delinquent in all of Yeongdeungpo. He was easily able to overpower Forrest Lee. It should be also noted that Donald regarded Myles as one of the few people to be able to take down Wolf Keum in a fight.
Mental
Based on anecdotal evidence from Forrest, Donald, and Eugene, Myles seems to be very action oriented and is quite irrational when it comes to decision making, which contributed to his excommunication.[4] Forrest even badmouths Myles during his fight with Alex, saying that there is nothing in Myles's head.[5]
