Cheongang

Cheongang is the ruling gang in Mapo.

History

Janghyeok Woo founded Cheongang many years prior to the start of the series. They quickly became the ruling gang of Mapo. A few years before the start of the series, Janghyeok Woo retired and Changhui Han succeeded him. Under Changhui's leadership and with the strength of him and his executives, Juwon Lee, Giju Seol, and Doyun Kim, Cheongang rapidly expanded.

Members

Janghyeok Woo (Founder)

Janghyeok Woo was the founder and first generation leader of Cheongang. He is deeply respected by both Changhui and Juwon. Changhui was saddened by Janghyeok's departure and despite him leaving, Juwon still went to Janghyeok whenever he needed advice. During his reign as leader, he had partnerships with other groups such as Manwol. It is unknown why he decided to retire.

Changhui Han (Current Leader)

Changhui Han is the current leader of Cheongang's second generation. During his rule, he rapidly expanded Cheongang and cut ties with unnecessary partnerships with other groups, including Manwol. He is highly respected by his underlings.

Juwon Lee (Rank 2)

Juwon Lee is the second-in-command of the second generation of Cheongang. He is absolutely loyal to Cheongang. Whenever he needs advice, he goes to the previous leader, Janghyeok. Juwon had also been a contender to be the leader of the second generation, but Changhui was more charismatic and also defeated Juwon in their rematch. Juwon holds no ill will towards Changhui and considers him to be worthy of Cheongang's leader.

Giju Seol (Rank 3)

Giju Seol is an executive of the second generation of Cheongang. He is considered to be the gentlest out of all the executives and has great managerial skills. Giju played a big role during the Seongsan Massacre. Right after Cheongang absorbed Seongsan, many of the members were not so cooperative and Giju was responsible of taking down the rebellious members. There were about six of them that he defeated, including one of their leaders. The outcome of the event led to Cheongang's rapid growth.

Doyun Kim (Rank 4)

Doyun Kim is an executive of the second generation of Cheongang. Doyun Kim was once a leader of a small gang that were starting to grow in the outskirts of Mapo. Cheongang recognized his strengths and offered him the fourth ranking executive position. His recruitment was made possible because of Juwon Lee, who is known as a legend in Mapo. Doyun is extremely loyal to Cheongang and resorts to violence with lower ranked members. He deeply respects both Changhui and Juwon.

Jaeryeong Lee (Action Squad Leader)

Jaeryeong Lee is the leader of Cheongang's Action Squad. Jaeryeong sometimes acts on his own but when he gets punished for it, he holds no ill-will towards his superiors and understands that it was his own fault. He takes great pride in being a member of Cheongang and seems to be closest with Giju.

Fighting Capabilities

The fighting prowess of Cheongang is not to be underestimated, if comparing to the strength and fighting capabilities of the average joe. They members of Cheongang have proven their strength by conquering Mapo and destroying any rival gangs in their territory.

The members of Cheongang don't hesitate to use dirty tactics, such as Doyun going for an eye jab against Jimmy and Changhui using a knife against Donald.

However, despite conquering Mapo, these adults were no match for the powerful high schoolers known as Donald Na, Jake Ji, Wolf Keum, Gray Yeon, and Ben Park.

Businesses

In Episode 175, Donald mentions to Changhui that it seems like Cheongang was copying the Union's businesses from transportation to uniforms. Since the Union does events, Cheongang most likely copied that business too.

In Episode 202, it is revealed that Cheongang are also loan sharks.
