Desert (砂漠)[1] is the developer name given to the arena of the 13th colossus.
Description
The battle takes place in the vast desert. Although there are rocky mountains and obstacles, such as ringed structures very similar to some seen in ICO, they hardly get in the way as you ride Agro and chase the colossus.
Location
The arena is located on the south of the Forbidden Lands, close to the 6th colossus' Canossa and the Blasted Lands, at quadrant E6.
Trivia
- The ringed structures (nicknamed by fans as Ico Rings) are the exact same model used in ICO. In that game, they appear on the stages: East Crag, East Arena, East Idol Stairs, East Reflector, West Crag, West Arena, West Idol Stairs and West Reflector.
- Before the 6th colossus was moved there, the unused colossus Roc lived next to the Desert. It was once possible to see the tower that it rested on when fighting against the 13th Colossus.
- In the E3 Demo, there is a placeholder cutscene for this arena that can only be accessed with the debug menu or by modifying the code. The cutscene has no camera panning and ends very quickly. The theme named "Wilderness" (also known by its file name "desert") plays.
