Levels are Tower Defense Simulator's internal experience system. Each player starts at Level 0, but as they play through the game, they will earn EXP, allowing them to reach higher Levels. Higher Levels require higher amounts of
EXP to reach. Reaching certain Levels unlocks new parts of the game or grants the player special rewards. The amount of
EXP needed to level up can be seen in your Level Bar at the bottom of your screen in the lobby.
Methods of Obtaining Exp
The main method of obtaining EXP is playing various gamemodes. Easier modes, like the Easy mode give much less
EXP than harder modes, like Hardcore mode. Event maps also give
EXP.
The amount of EXP earned at the end of a match is multiplied by 1.25x with the VIP gamepass. During periods of double
EXP (00:00 UTC Friday – 00:00 UTC Sunday), any
EXP earned is multiplied by 2x. Special maps, like Pizza Party or Badlands II, have modifiers which increase the amount of
EXP you get. For example, in Badlands II, you receive
170 EXP when triumphing instead of
100 EXP, as the All Paths, Mutation, Badlands and HP Locked modifiers increase currency rewards by 70%.
EXP can also be earned by redeeming badges in Rewards and through codes, though these methods are not as reliable as simply playing matches.
Exp Requirements
Currently, the formula for levelling up is:
- Between Levels 0 and 10:
- 45 + (Current Level × 3.5)
- Between Levels 10 and 40:
- Current Level × 8
- All Levels above 40:
- 260 + (Current Level × 1.5)
Before the Overhaul Update, the formula for levelling up was:
- 35 + (Current Level × 2.5)
Rewards
Every fifth Level increases the amount of base health you have by 2, unless the map or mode has the HP Locked modifier. Prior to the Overhaul Update, each Level increased base health by 1. Before 18th of June 2019, Levels did not increase base health. The current formula for base health is:
- 100 + [(Player Levels ÷ 5) × 2]
Reaching some Levels also unlock new towers, like the Crook Boss or Turret, while other thresholds unlock new parts of the game, like special maps or Hardcore mode. The list below lists all current rewards or unlocks at the given level. Increased base health is not listed as this applies for every fifth Level.
