The Peppepe[1] (ペッペペ[2]?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, rubber duck-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.
Appearance

The Peppepes appearance is based on that of a rubber duck. Their heads are colored yellow, while the neck and torso are colored gray. The wheels Peppepes have are dark brown, while their beaks are light blue.
Overview

In Sonic Labyrinth, Peppepes appear exclusively as enemies in Labyrinth of the Sky. In gameplay, they have a simple attack pattern; they roll on the ground, releasing sticky puddles of white glue. When Sonic walks on these puddles, he becomes temporarily immobilized. Only a Spin Dash can defeat these Badniks.
Powers and abilities
Peppepes are capable of spewing out a white type of glue that can temporarily immobilize their enemies.

In the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing, the Peppepes were among the Badniks that Dr. Eggman used to attack an unsuspecting city.[3]
In the recent past, the Peppepe was one of the many Badniks that were used during the War to Take Back the Planet.[4]
Sometime in the present, a singular Peppepe model and a horde of other assorted Badniks would be used by Dr. Starline to test Surge the Tenrec during one of her tests at Starline Base Sigma. However, all were easily destroyed by her.[5]
When Metal Sonic used his V. Maximum Overdrive Attack to damage Sonic, Tails, and Belle's stolen escape aircraft, a Peppepe was among the group of Badniks tossed aside by the crashing ship.[6]

Several Peppepes and other Badniks helped defended the Egg Base Delta against Knuckles, Vector, Espio, and Charmy when they broke into the city and began attacking them (due to the heroes thinking that Dr. Eggman and his Badniks were the ones who stole their relic). However, once Dr. Eggman informs Knuckles and Team Chaotix that he had nothing to do with stealing their relic, the heroes would then stop attacking the Peppepes and other Badniks before proceeding to leave Egg Base Delta.[7]
Trivia
- The Peppepe's name is derived from pepe, meaning "spitting" in Japanese.
- Peppepe is so far the only mass-produced Badnik originating from the Sega Game Gear games to appear in the Sonic the Hedgehog comic series and its spin-offs published by IDW Publishing.
