Puyoyo

The Puyoyo^[1] (プヨヨ^[2], Puyoyo^[1]?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, blob-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.

Appearance

The Puyoyos are transparent and blob-like Badniks, with black eyes being the only features seen on their faces.

Overview

In Sonic Labyrinth, the Puyoyos are encountered exclusively in Labyrinth of the Sea 2-1. In gameplay, they will simply inch across the ground in a random pattern. These Badniks are unable to hurt the player effectively, but they are scattered on the lower floor of the only level they appear in, making them tricky to avoid. In addition, getting hurt subtracts five seconds from the timer. Despite this, they can still be destroyed easily with a Spin Dash.

Powers and abilities

The Puyoyos have no special abilities to speak of; their only remarkable trait is their ability to be everywhere in groups.

Trivia

• The Puyoyo resembles the Garbage Puyos found in the Puyo Puyo series.
  • In addition, its name appears to derive from the Puyos themselves, which is puyo, meaning "jelly-like."
