The Gabubu[1] (カププ[2] lit. "Kapupu"?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, piranha-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.
Apperance
The Gabubu is based on piranhas. They have a blue coloring, a gray fin, tail, and underbelly, and two fangs. They also have orange sclera and black eyes.
Overview
In Sonic Labyrinth, the Gabubus appear exclusively in Labyrinth of the Castle 4-3. They will be telegraphed from a shadow in the flowing water of the level, before jumping out of it after a set distance. The Gabubu cannot be destroyed, as it is too high for the player to be able to use the Spin Dash.
Powers and abilities
The Gabubus are capable of a powerful bite, and can also jump out of the water out of their enemies' reach.
Trivia
- Its behavior is similar to that of the Chopper and Masher.
- The Gabubu's name is derived from gabugabu, meaning "guzzling."
