The Toriri[1] (トリリ[2]?) is an enemy that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a mass-produced, penguin-based Badnik created by Dr. Eggman.
Appearance
Toriris are based on penguins. Their torso and head are colored black, while their flippers are shown to be light blue. Their feet and beak are colored yellow, and they have jet engines on their back, which they use for flight.
Overview
In Sonic Labyrinth, the Toriri appears as an enemy that only appears in Labyrinth of the Sky 1-1. The attack pattern for these Badniks is simple: the Toriris constantly spawn and will fly diagonally from a specific part of the level to attack the player. Only a Spin Dash can destroy the Toriris.
Powers and abilities
The Toriris are capable of flight thanks to their jet engines, which they use to ram into intruders.
Trivia
- The Toriris bear some resemblance to the Penguinators, which appear in IceCap Zone from Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
- The Toriri's name is derived from tori, meaning "bird" in Japanese.
