Cart

The Cart^[1] is a gimmick that appears in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. It is a race cart that used in Seaside Hill for fast transportation.

Description

Carts are motorcycle-like vehicles with three wheels, which include two on the rear and one up front. They are colored red with some blue around the cockpit, with 3 blue-colored circle gauges on its dashboard and an H-shaped-yoke-styled yellow steering wheel. Two exhaust pipes exist on its bottom rear.

Overview

In the console/PC version of Sonic Generations, the Cart appears in Seaside Hill Act 2. Here, the player takes control of one after passing Route Signals marked with the cart's symbol. Cart can be controlled much as like Modern Sonic. Pressing / lets the player Boost to increase the Cart's speed, holding down / lets the player drift through tight turns, and pressing / makes the Cart jump. The Cart is not indestructible however, and when taking damage with no Rings the player will lose a life. Also, when reaching the end of Cart racing sections, which are marked with red "X" blocks, the Cart will be destroyed and the player takes the control of Modern Sonic once again.

Trivia

• If Super Sonic enters a Cart, he will revert back to normal before riding in it.
• The Cart may or may not be a supposed modernized version of the Bobsled from Sonic Heroes, especially in regards to its overall design, usage on specific set portions of a stage based specifically on Sonic Heroes.
• When using the Boost, the Cart's front wheel will have a smaller version of Modern Sonic's Boost energy field, though it'll briefly move out of it if the player jumps or uses a Jump Panel
