Merryweather is one of the Three Good Fairies, along with Flora and Fauna, and one of the headmistresses of Royal Prep and supporting sidekick characters to Sofia. The fairies are the magical tutors of the young princess and teaches her the ways of the royal highness she will one day become. Merryweather dresses in blue, her favorite color. She is feisty, tough, and funny, and often gets into disagreements with Flora. It is shown in several episodes that Flora and Merryweather have yet to settle the blue-pink debate.
Her title is "Her Grace Fairy Merryweather".
Physical appearance
Merryweather's eyes are blue, and her hair is black, but her veil, which covers the entire back of her head, makes it difficult to determine how her hair is styled. Merryweather is about a full head shorter than Flora and Fauna. She and Flora are slightly larger than Fauna.
Role in the series
Merryweather, along with Flora and Fauna, manage several classes at Royal Prep. One of the fairies' largest roles in the series is in the episode "Make Way for Miss Nettle" where the fairies' former apprentice, Miss Nettle, visits the academy to (supposedly) teach an after school gardening class to Sofia and friends. However, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather soon discover Nettle's actually after their spell book, in an attempt to become more powerful than the three fairies combine, betraying them. Fortunately, due to the efforts of Sofia and friends, the fairies are rescued and peace is restored.
In "The Princess Prodigy", Merryweather helps Sofia and her friends play the counterspell so that the talents Baron Von Rocha stole are returned to their rightful owners. She then tells him to leave, as he magically stole musical talents from Piccolo and Vivian. This episode reveals that she can play the French Horn and Tuba.
