Rapunzel is the main character from the fiftieth Disney animated feature Tangled and is one of the princesses from the Disney Princess media franchise. Rapunzel appears during season two in special Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy.
History
When Princess Sofia and Princess Amber are trapped in a ravine by Princess Ivy, Princess Rapunzel is summoned by the Amulet of Avalor to help them. Princess Amber had asked the amulet to summon Rapunzel, out of all Disney Princesses, earlier in Sofia the First: The Curse of Princess Ivy, but Princess Ivy was summoned instead as a curse on Amber for stealing the amulet from Sofia. While flying on dragons with Sofia and Amber, Rapunzel sings the song "Dare to Risk it All", which teaches Amber to take risks to right the wrongs that her selfishness has caused.
She later appears with her fellow Disney Princesses to give Sofia the strength to defeat Vor for good in the series finale Sofia the First: Forever Royal.
Trivia
- Rapunzel's speaking and singing voice is provided by Mandy Moore in both Tangled and Sofia the First.
- Rapunzel mentions defeating Mother Gothel and as such she has lived through the ending of Tangled where her hair is cut short and turned brunette; therefore, her long, blond hair is unaccountable.
- Rapunzel is shown wearing purple flats. However, in the movie Tangled and spinoff series, she is barefoot.
