King Magnus is a supporting character from the Disney Junior animated series Sofia the First. He is the ruler of Rudistanistan who comes to visit the Enchancian royal family in "Cedric's Apprentice". He is very intrigued by Sofia's confidence in Cedric's skills, so he requests a performance from him.
Personality
Proud and arrogant, King Magnus is known for bragging. During his visit to Enchancia, he was bragging about his chef, jester and royal sorcerer, not for their sake, but just so he can brag about how much better he has it than King Roland. Magnus was arrogant to the point of self-admiration, as seen in the episode “Baileywhoops”, where during the presentation of gifts, he presented Roland with a statue and portrait of himself.
However, despite his arrogance, when Cedric flawlessly turned Sofia into a human from a lizard, Magnus appreciated him, and when he made Clover disappear with a potion, Magnus admitted that his wizard had never been able to create such a thing. He also treats his servants well and praised Slickwell during the Royal Croquet match.
Role in the series
King Magnus first appears in the episode “Cedric's Apprentice”, when he pays a visit to King Ronald. When King Magnus arrives, he starts bragging about his chef, jester and royal sorcerer, during dinner. However, Sofia tells him about Cedric and suggests that he put on a show for them which Magnus agrees to, to Roland's dismay. When Sofia reports this to Cedric, he is nervous about performing for two Kings. However, she tells him they can help each other get ready.
When Cedric successfully makes Clover appear, Magnus begins to brag about how much better his royal sorcerer is, who can make an entire zoo appear. But when Sofia purposely spills the lizard potion on herself, to everyone's horror, and Cedric flawlessly changes her back, king Magnus praises and applauds him.
