Ikue (育江?) is one of the characters from pop'n music 16 PARTY♪. Ikue is also the central character for her trilogy of stories from pop'n music ラピストリア, simply titled "Ikue's Adventures".

A mysterious married woman in search of happiness for the child she is bearing. When leaving, Ikue has a habit of saying "May happiness come to you." (あなたにも幸せが訪れますように Anata ni mo shiawase ga otozuremasu you ni?), when departing.

The song was supposed to be from a male point of view, but after some complications, Asaki and I decided that it would be nice to have a normal, refreshing character for once.
So we ended up with a female character.
I asked the team designers what they think about her.
"Isn't that baby a doll?" and "She has a dark past, doesn't she?", were the comments I got, but she isn't like that at all. She is just a refreshing character who is a married lady.
Or at least it's feels like that...
Appearance
Ikue is a pale-skinned woman with pale blue eyes and long, light grey hair. She wears a sleeveless white dress with a yellow sunhat decorated with a white ribbon. In her arms she carries a newborn baby swaddled in a white cloth. The baby wears a light blue hat and has a matching pacifier in its mouth.
In her 2P color palette, Ikue's entire color palette is shifted to shades of brown and gold, as if she is in a sepia photo. This color palette is used for ほしふり Re:pray in pop'n music ラピストリア.

- Ikue shares her birthdate with John.A.Chopper and HAJIME.
- The reason Ikue is carrying a newborn baby is unknown, however, it’s implied that she’s either the mother of the baby, or the baby itself is a doll. Ikue's character designer, Takao Yamamoto leaves this a mystery, for even he doesn’t know.
- We don't get to see the dialogue of the baby babbling or crying in any of the stories of Ikue's Adventures.
Etymology
- Ikue's name (育江) can be split into two kanji. 育 means to grow, bring up, or raise. 江 means creek, inlet or bay.
