Slogan

Stow-on-Side is a location introduced in Generation VIII.

Description

Stow-on-Side is a town in the Galar region.

Stow-on-Side Stadium

The Stow-on-Side Stadium is the fourth Gym the player challenges. Its type and Gym Leader varies between game versions: in Pokémon Sword, the Gym specializes in Fighting-type Pokémon and is lead by Bea, while in Pokémon Shield, the Gym specializes in Ghost-type Pokémon and is lead by Allister.

Bargain Shop

The bargain shop is located west of the Pokémon Center. When talked to, the shop owner will give the player three options:

  1. Today's bargain - The shop owner will sell that item for 3,000.
  2. Yesterday's bargain - Only available if the player has not bought the item of the previous day after they have reached Stow-on-Side. It is sold for 5,000.
  3. Tomorrow's bargain - The shop owner reveals what item he will sell on the next day.

The items that the bargain shop sell are often hard to get or even unavailable otherwise.

Collector

The collector is located next to the bargain shop. Each day, the collector will request to buy a specific type of item in the Treasures pocket for money, which is higher than that of selling the same item in a Poké Mart.

Trivia

  • Stow-on-Side is likely based on the Dungeness headland in the Kent region, sometimes described as the UK's only desert; although its desert status has been refuted by a spokesperson from the Met Office.[1] Stow-on-Side's architectural style seems to be based on that of the Pueblo Native American tribes of the southwestern US and northwestern Mexico.
