Black Sludge

Black Sludge is an item introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

When held by a Poison-type Pokémon, it restores 1/16 of its maximum HP at the end of each turn. Black Sludge has a negative effect on any non-Poison Pokémon that holds it, taking away 1/8 HP of their maximum HP each turn instead.

Locations

In most of its appearances, a Black Sludge is a very rare item that has a 5% chance of being held by certain Poison-type Pokémon, such as Grimer or Croagunk.
