Aurora Veil is an Ice-type move introduced in Generation VII.
Effect
Aurora Veil creates a barrier that halves damage received from physical moves and special moves to Pokémon on the allied team for five turns, or eight turns if they have Light Clay equipped. In Double Battles, Aurora Veil only reduces damage to the user and its allies by 1/3. Aurora Veil is only usable while it is hailing or snowing.
Aurora Veil wears off if the user or any of its party members are hit by either Brick Break, Defog, Psychic Fangs, or Raging Bull. Attacks from Pokémon with the Infiltrator Ability and any critical hits ignore the effects of Aurora Veil. The effects of Aurora Veil are deactivated entirely with a Pokémon with either Cloud Nine or the Air Lock Ability is present.
In Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet, Aurora Veil is usable only during snow weather, as hail does not reappear.
