Shezada was an adventurer and a treasure hunter.
History
Background
When Shezada was a young girl, she grew up in the village of Haru. But one day, a flood occurred in the village, leaving Shezada the only notable survivor. Since then, Shezada began her life as a treasure hunter, hoping to rebuild her village.
At one point, Shezada learned of a Sphinx that resided in the Valley of the Sphinx who would grant wishes to anyone who overcame her challenge. Determined to wish for the flood which destroyed Haru to never have happened, Shezada journeyed to the Sphinx's Pyramid, only to find herself trapped within the maze for several weeks, surviving off of the food she had packed and the native Brillies.
The Maze of the Sphinx (flashback)
One day, while further exploring the maze, Shezada encountered two new travelers who had managed to overcome the Sand warriors. Unsure of whether or not they would be a threat to her, Shezada attacked the pair, keeping one on the ground with her leg while holding the edge of her spear up to the other's throat. After a brief struggle, the travelers suddenly ceased attacking her and introduced themselves as Wu and Garmadon, explaining that they too were trapped in the maze alongside Shezada. Feeling she could trust the strangers, Shezada introduced herself as well and led them to her hideout, where she explained how she had survived for the last several weeks, going out for a few hours each day to explore new sections of the maze and adding her discoveries to the map she had carved into the wall.
The next morning, Shezada woke up Garmadon and announced that the trio will set out to find the exit. She praised Wu as being a genius, noting that he had brought sheets of paper with him, thus allowing the trio to transcribe Shezada's carvings onto a handheld map rather than having to rely on memory. Together, by using Wu's map and Shezada's experience, the trio made their way through the pyramid's many challenges, including the Scorpion Highway, the Pokey Passage, and the Mirror of Dread. Eventually, they arrived at the second to last chamber, one which Shezada had never been to before. Within this chamber, the trio found themselves confronted by an army of Ghouls that emerged through two tunnels, both on opposing sides of the chamber. Unsure of where to go, Shezada and Garmadon raced their way through the ghouls down the rightmost tunnel. As they made it across however, Shezada realized that Wu had not been following them. Concerned for his safety, Shezada persuaded Garmadon to go back for his brother, forcing the two to make their way past the ghouls again. As they did so, one ghoul caught Shezada off guard and bit her, though she dismissed the injury as nothing important. After making their way to Wu, the younger brother explained that since they had fallen downwards through a trap door upon entering the pyramid, surely that meant the Sphinx's chamber was above them and not through either of the ghoul tunnels. At that moment, the platform beneath the trio began to rise, taking them to their final challenge.
Standing outside the Sphinx's chamber, Shezada and the brothers faced a dozen of the Sphinx's Beetle warriors - their final challenge. With the end of her journey so near, Shezada immediately leaped forward to attack one of the Beetle warriors, slicing right through the insectoid warrior with her spear. Turning to the brothers, Shezada confidently declared that the Beetle warriors were too easy of a challenge, only to realize seconds later that the reason she was able to slice through the warrior so easily was because it was not a singular being, but rather a form taken on by thousands of individual beetles packed together. Working alongside the brothers, the trio smashed the Beetle warriors into their components as they pushed their way to the door to the Sphinx's chamber, finally pushing aside the heavy door to reveal the resting Sphinx's grinning face.
Seconds after entering the Sphinx's chamber and declaring victory, a sudden sensation took hold over Shezada as her skin began to turn a sickly green and the whites of her eyes turned pure black, her energy sapping away from her body with each passing second. With a grin, the Sphinx revealed that as a result of the earlier bite from the ghoul, Shezada had been infected and was now turning into one of them. Fortunately, Garmadon was able to use the trio's wish to save Shezada, restoring her to normal before the Sphinx allowed them to leave her pyramid. After leaving the pyramid, Shezada gave Garmadon a kiss on the cheek for choosing to save her with the wish in spite of his original desire to have used the wish to cure himself of the evil that was stirring in his heart. Although Garmadon offered her to continue journeying alongside him and his brother, Shezada declined his offer, stating that she had to continue treasure hunting to help her people. As a large crowd of the local residents of the valley swarmed the trio with many questions about their survival of the pyramid, Shezada vanished into the crowd.
After The Maze of the Sphinx
At some point in time after their adventure together in the Pyramid of the Sphinx, Shezada encountered Wu again. Although the details surrounding the meeting were kept secret by Wu, his facial expressions implied it was a fond experience.
Personality
As an explorer and a skilled fighter, Shezada is brave in dangerous situations.
Having lost her village and lived for years in solitariness, she became secretive. Thus, Shezada preferred to keep herself mysterious and felt uncomfortable when asked about herself. Initially, she was hesitant to tell Wu and Garmadon about her life story and the wish she had in mind before trusting them long enough to do so.
She is also a resilient individual when she is determined to escape the pyramid, regardless of the traps set up by the Sphinx.
Despite her rough exterior, she is loyal and kind to her friends, especially when she returns to save Wu, only to be bitten by a ghoul. And when Garmadon made a wish to turn her back from being a ghoul, she repaid him with a kiss and called him "softie."
There could be an implication that she doesn't like getting too much attention from other people, as shown when she parted ways with Wu and Garmadon when the villagers rushed toward them and when she turned down joining them on their adventures.
